"My dog Tanner is a rescue I adopted 5 months ago. We have been training with Steve for several weeks and already there is a marked difference in Tanner's behavior, responsiveness, and willingness to please. Tanner is rambunctious, a jumper and has separation anxiety, along with a few other issues which Steve identified very early on and is working through very effectively. Steve's teachings and example have made me strive to be more firm and consistent with Tanner, which translates to someone Tanner can count on, which translates to an all around happier, healthier relationship for us! I expect Steve to be in Tanner's life for a long time to come."

"Steve has been excellent to work with as a Dog trainer. We have two small Cavalier King Charles Spaniels that are going through Steve's "Mini Hero's" program. Steve is gentle and very in-tune to our dogs feelings and needs. He also is able to explain to us when we are the problem vs. the dogs, but he does that in a gentle way too! We love that he comes to our home and helps us to train with issues around our home (i.e. barking at the neighbors, barking at the TV, etc.). I would highly recommend Steve as a dog trainer and I suggest you give him a try."

"We have been very happy with our trainings sessions with Steve. We have progressed through Level 1 and 2 of obedience training for our chocolate lab, Kona. He has been very professional and worked with us being flexible with our schedules was nice. Highly recommended!"

"If you'd like your dog to be the best companion possible, well mannered, balanced, respectful and respected, contact Steve Walter."

"I highly recommend Steve to any dog owner looking to deepen their bond with their dog by learning or improving obedience and leash handling, curb any dog aggression, all the while having fun working with their dog. Steve provides all this and more — with intelligence, humor, and spot-on dog behavior understanding. Steve has been my dog's trainer for six months now — completing Level One and now into Level Two training. I am always impressed with the instant (caring, respectful, and confident) connection he makes with my dog. A beautiful and wondrous thing to witness. Steve is a professional, serious, capable, down-to-earth dog trainer worthy of anyone's trust to transform their dog into the best companion one could have at their side."

"I've been working with Steve for over five years. He has trained all five of my dogs and two of my parents dogs. The first time I left my mastiff with him I told him he wouldn't come when called, play fetch, swim, was unsafe with other dogs or be relaxed in a crate. I also gave him a head halter to walk him in and treats. I come back to see my dog running around in the yard with his pups playing like it was no big deal. Within days everything I said he couldn't do Steve had him doing AND enjoying it! My last dog I rescued came from a family that put her through a certain SPCA certified trainer that only uses food reward and recommends harnesses the pinch the shoulders together (cause that's humane, NOT!). She was aggressive to both people and animals, wouldn't let you touch her food bowl and didn't know anything. One week and my girl was a different dog. Stogi and I grow closer everyday with the training from Steve. Level one- done, level two- done. Dog training is about respect not reward. A real trainer has put in the time to get the respectful relationship between dog and handler. And not walking around with a giant fanny pack thinking they're all that. Thanks Steve KEEP ROCKING DOGS' WORLDS!!!!"

"I have known Steve Walter for many years now and can attest to his integrity. . I can say this since I've seen Steve work with many dogs that most people would say destroy because of the dogs temperament, actions towards humans, and or animals."

"PIT BULL LOVERS BEWARE! THIS GUY HAS WHAT IT TAKES!
I'm still in shock at how Steve took my unruely pit bull, Snot (lol his real name is Snickers) and helped him become the dog I knew he could be. I couldn't take Snot out with me in the car cause he's got guarding problems. Steve really helped us come up with solutions for our problems and now Snot's a happy buddy!
I can honestly say his prices are fair for the hard work you get. And Steve offers you lifetime support if you got any problems. I spent the money to get him 6 lessons and that was like 8 months ago. I probably call Steve once a week and he's always happy to help. We'll be getting our second dog soon and this one's going to start out right! With Steve from the get go!"

"Steve has been truly amazing training our 1yo chocolate lab puppy. Within just 1 lesson, she was behaving on leash - AND OFF! We are so happy with our training and the bond we're building with Kona thanks to Steve. Each week of training delivers new nuggets of joy. 3 weeks into training, we had a large party and every guest commented on how well behaved she is. We love how specialized the lesson plan is to our dog, and our own Thank you Thank you Thank you Steve! We cannot wait to graduate to Level 2 with you!"

"I first worked with Steve to help me work with a strong, willful year-old Great Dane who had no concept of leash walking. Within one session, he was heeling beautifully. I've since engaged Steve to help me build better relationships with both of my dogs. I continue to recommend Steve to anyone I meet who wants to improve their own relationship with their dog. Not only is Steve personable and professional, but his techniques are proven and you will see quick results."

"I lived in the same house as Steve for over a year. I know, without a doubt, that dogs are an important part of his life. He loves them, enjoys training them and he is very good at it. I witnessed some of the training sessions he had with the dogs who came over to the house. He has a remarkable understanding for the way dogs think and knows how to gain their respect and communicate with them effectively. I was very impressed by his aptitude for his skill every time I saw him in action.
When I was still together with my ex-boyfriend, Dan, he adopted an abandoned dog, Ripley, that Steve selflessly rescued. Ripley was extremely skinny and unhealthy – it was a huge endeavor to get him in shape. Steve bent over backwards for that dog, as he has done for many others. When Dan adopted Ripley, he was a healthy, well trained, happy dog.
I also was able to get to know Steve on a personal level. He has proven to me to have a strong character, with good solid morals. He is very well-rounded and has a very healthy perspective on himself and the world. I would trust Steve with my dog in a heartbeat."

"Steve Walter is the only person I know and trust to care for my dogs in Seattle. In fact, I've referred my neighbors and friends to Steve to assist them in their dog training and dog boarding needs. Who in turn reported back to me of the amazing positive transformation of their dog's behavior after working with Steve for only a short time. When my dogs are with Steve, I feel relaxed and confident that they are not only being well cared for, but are safe and in a healthy environment. If you are looking for an experienced expert dog trainer and care provider, Steve Walter is the person I would recommend with confidence."

"Steve is a very talented dog trainer. Our four year old black lab, Shadow, has some agressive behavior that we wanted to address - mainly, pulling on the leash and barking at other dogs. During our first session, we were amazed at the command that Steve brings. Before we knew it, Shadow was walking by our side with a loose "U" in the lead. Amazing! And Shadow adores him - he just gazes up at him, as if to say, "Thank you! I just want to please my People, and you are helping me do that!" Shadow is progressing, and we are too. Thanks, Steve."

"Steve is hands down the best dog trainer I have found. He has a gentle, caring manner, firm leadership, and keen intuition about each different dogs needs. Because he uses praise and connection as the main method of reward, rather than food, it gave my dog more confidence. I would highly recommend Steve as the local "dog whisperer""

"We recently rescued a purebred Shih Tzu who had no formal training and was suffering from severe separation anxiety. After unsuccessfully attempting crating and training on our own, we were fortunate to find Nitro K-9. Steve is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to dogs. Not only does he offer unlimited information and support, he genuinely just loves dogs. Steve has helped us learn how to slowly ease our dog's anxiety and desensitize his separation issues. Steve also is fantastic with obediencetraining; helping both our dog and us learn the best techniques for obedience. Though, we are still in Level 1 training, we're already seeing positive results with our pup. We just love our new little pet and are forever grateful for Steve's dedication, knowledge and continuous support. We highly recommend Nitro K-9 for you and your pet…if you truly want the best. "

"I have used Steve remotely from my country of Greece to help my dog stop pulling on leash and barking and showing aggressive behavior. He is very patient and explains everything with e mail's and videos that make the distance and the language difference a non issue. Steve is patient, understanding and always willing to help. I am half way across the world and it feels like he is right here with me. I cannot recommend him highly enough, he is truly the best in the world.""

"We adopted Eddy as a three month old Great Dane mix rescue that had been through a few homes. After a couple months, Eddy was a 60 pound ball of energy pulling me around the neighborhood. Within one lesson with Steve, Eddy had learned enough leash manners to heel and sit on command. Halfway through our Level 1 training, Eddy's working on stay, come, and getting so much better around other dogs and distractions. Best of all, no more jumping! Need to know how to work with your dog? Don't waste time on food motivated or clicker classes, call Steve! ."

"Steve helped turn our dog from a leash pulling , disobeying troublemaker into a calm dog.We can now walk her without her freaking out when other dogs and people pass. The exercises are easy to do (only take 10 minutes a night) and the training sessions are low-key.The training focuses on learning with the dog and training you to issue commands and corrections while understanding what the dog is thinking and why they react in certain ways.I would reccommend this service to anyone..""

Steve is knowledgeable, precise and personable."

"As a new dog owner, I was totally lost on the best way to start training her. Fortunately, Steve came highly recommended by a friend of mine, and he's been great. He immediately established a great rapport with my dog and she's always so happy to see him when he comes. Steve is so knowledgable about dogs and I've learned a lot from him beyond the training. In addition, he's very reliable and is always there when he says he'll be which is very important to me with my schedule. I especially appreciate that he comes to the house and works around my schedule.I would highly recommend Steve to anyone who is looking for a knowledgable, caring dog trainer.""

"Steve provided excellent one on one training with our dogs. He took a personal interest in each dog and gave my partner and I tools to maintain the training after the sessions ended. The training is well worth the time and effort as the results are amazing. "

"I found Steve when I was feeling pretty desperate with my retriever's behavior. I tried group class and other trainers but my lively Chessie continued to jump up on humans. Quite a problem for a 65 lbs. dog.In one lesson, Steve showed me how to communicate with my dog. Watching him in action is amazing. She responds to me on leash and off. No more jumping up even when she's excited!Steve has helped me to enjoy my dog after many years of frustration. Our training has focused on me learning how to communicate with my dog. With Steve's help I am clear about what I want from my dog's behavior and she understands.I am truly grateful to Steve. I recommend Steve highly for anyone who wants immeidate results."

"Whether your dog has serious problems or just needs a little refinement, Steve at Nitro K-9 can help. He can evaluate for aggression and provide support for the worst cases. If your dog pulls on the leash, after one session with Steve, that will stop. I've used Steve's training for my own dog, for a rescue, and I recommend him to friends. "

"I met Steve Walter over a year ago through the purchase of a Dutch Shepherd. That transaction went very smoothly, and it struck me at that time that he was very communicative and honest. Since then, Steve has continued to be in touch with me, always responding to my inquiries promptly and enthusiastically. I believe from my interactions that Steve is not only a responsible person, but also caring and thoughtful. I would not hesitate to refer people to he and his business for his dog training"

"Where to begin without this running on and on?! We had a very high maintenance hound dog that we loved but couldn't keep in check. He got out of our fully fenced yard and his crates, no one could watch him for us because he was such hard work and SO sneaky, he was nose to the ground on walks and pulled like the rest of them, etc....Steve worked with my dog and me to train him and did a great job (considering how little time we had to work with the dog overall). He also dependably took GREAT care of our sweetheart whenever we left town (which was often). We had a good run with the sweetest dog and eventually found him a hunting home so he'd be happy, but it was no fault of Steve's. He was just too well bred a rescue ;) Next dog we get? STEVE is our man, no doubt about it. A good trainer and a good man...."
